Growing in Unity and Unity Addicts Wednesday

It's Maria Levine here with your Growing In Unity gal and this week's Unity Addicts Challenge.

This week's Growing in Unity gal is Nicole. She will be inspiring you all week with fabulous projects using Unity stamps. First let's start with a little something about Nicole:

"My name is Nicole and I live on the beautiful west coast of Canada. I am a single mom to 3 kids and work at the local hospital. I began scrapbooking and stamping over 10 years ago and have taught classes at local stores over the years. I discovered Unity stamps about a year ago in my local scrapbook store and finally subscribed to the monthly kit club before this summer (so glad I did!) and recently became an Ippity chick. I find myself reaching for unity stamps all the time, they fit so well with any style or project and if I am just looking to make a quick and easy card, they are perfect for those too. "

Here is a fabulous mini book from Nicole:

Be sure to swing by Nicole's blog every day this week for lots of inspiration! At the end of the week Julie will pick a random winner from all her wonderful comments and that person will win a fabulous Unity prize!

Thanks to all who played along with last week's Unity Addicts Challenge. The winner will be announced in the forum. Now it's time for another challenge. This week I thought I'd take the reins on picking our challenge! My husbands birthday is this Thursday so I'm going with a birthday themed challenge: make a masculine themed birthday card, but you must include a piece of chipboard or grunge board. Come join us in the Challenge forum to play along.

Here is what I came up with using some grunge board for the birthday cake image, I also used last Thursday's hip hop sketch:

Be sure to swing on by the Unity Challenges Forum to play along this week. There is a chance at an awesome Unity Kit for one random player!

If you have a challenge idea we want to hear it, come by this thread to let us know. Maybe you will be the next Unity Addict Challenge Guest!!

Thanks for stopping by!

Till next week!

DT tuesday w/ jen e. from the block

so i have to tell you that i am notorious for getting song lyrics wrong.  and not just when i was a kid.  my whole life.  even now at 38.  wrong.  wrong.  wrong.

my most infamous blunder was when i was belting out,
"if you like BEAN ENCHILADAS...and gettin'
caught in the rain...."
turns out it was PINA COLADAS, not bean enchiladas.

so last spring, i was with megan and some of her 12 year old soccer friends.  i was all like, "i like that new song about the green beans on the lawn."
they were like "WHAAAAAAT?!?"
so then i'm all like, you know, the new one by miley in the USA.

turns out it was a JAY Z song was on...
NOT green beans on the lawn.

have a super day!  hope you get some song lyrics wrong. :)

Jimmi's Sunday Favorites!

Happy Sunday everyone all over the world!

I hope you are having a great weekend and doing what you love :)

Today I want to start with my shopping trip yesterday. I went with my good friend and we headed out to our favorite store...I know you know what it is, lol...with our coupons in hand...and I got a leggings outfit! AH! It's all the sales ladies fault! We were looking at them and talking about how we could NEVER pull them off and she was like "try them, you will be surprised..." and I already had a cool, flowy black sweater in my hands to buy and SHE said they would go perfectly with it so I really had no choice!

So I tried then and loved them with that sweater and a pretty fitted tunic underneath!I just got plain black leggings (no jeggings or anything crazy!) and they were only $9.95.
I wish I could show you the sweater but it's not online...darn it, because you will LOVE it. I think it's going to be my signature Fall item! Just imagine a kind of long, flowy, sweater with no buttons with a big, flowy collar... :)

Anyway, that's my story!

OH and the BEST part, when I got home I did my usual fashion show for the hubs and he LOVES the leggings outfit, very sexy he said and Rachel, my 18 year old, said the same thing! She actually said she was jealous and wants a leggings outfit, too!

Now that's a good outfit!

OK, how about some cards!

These are ALL from the Unity SCS Gallery. I hope you are visiting that gallery frequently because there are ideas GALORE in there. I spend time there EVERY DAY! pretty much no matter what! I adore seeing all the Unity cards!

That's all the favorites for me today! I hope you'll go to the Gallery and find some of your favorites too and SPREAD the LOVE!

Have a great day!

FWF for Today- Sept 24

Good morning Unity Peeps!
It's Christi here with you this morning and we are going to talk inspiration today.
(I know you are surprised, right? hehe!)

But inspiration is what this is all about.
Seeing what our friends are creating with the same stamps.
Getting inspired by their style and interpretations of how to use the stamps.
Becoming inspired by a special technique or color combo.
The goal of this group is inspire us to CREATE more gorgeous art with our stamps!
FWF even inspires us to create better, because we ALL love those super-sweet comments. ;o)

So let's get to it!!!
First, let's look at how Cindy (scrapcollctr57) was inspired by last week's FWF43 challenge to create this gorgeous piece of art...

You can leave her some love HERE.

Now for this week's FWF challenge (FWF44) and are you in for a treat with this gorgeous beauty from Carolina....

You can leave her some love HERE.

Would you like to see your card featured here on the Unity blog for FWF?
1. Look at Carolina's incredible card above.

2. Create an art piece inspired by it (there are no rules when it comes to inspiration so just go with it!)

3. Upload to
SCS with the keyword FWF44.

4. Watch for next week's FWF post here and your card may just show up here too!

Now it's TIME for some more inspiring friends...................
Don't forget to watch for the blinkie below as you hop along and leave a comment on that blog for your chance to win.

Unity Flair!
